“…He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at
her…” (John 8:7)
Jesus made this statement in the book of John, in the olden
days when a man sin, or does something that is not right like adultery or
anything that is against the law, such a person is stoned to death. Thank God
for Jesus Christ who died for our sins.
MEANING
OF JUNGLE JUSTICE
Jungle and Justice,
Jungle
The jungle is a land covered with dense vegetation and it is
also the home to several animals.
Justice
This is the quality of being Just; righteousness,
equitableness, or moral rightness.
Now jungle justice is an act of following the laws of the
Jungle. It can also be defined as a situation whereby one or group of people
take laws into their hand, because they believe the victim is weaker.
THE
STORY
There
are lots of stories but today I choose to talk about…
THE ALUU COMMUNITY
This is a sad, shocking, heartbreaking and unimaginable
story…
On the 5th of October 2012, four university of
Port Harcourt students were murdered. Innocent students were murdered for doing
nothing, one of the students wanted to collect his money from an indigene of
the community that has refused to pay him. He didn’t want to go alone I guess
so he went with three other guys, on getting to the debtors house, the debtor
shouted thief! Trying to alert anyone that is around simply because he didn’t
want to pay I guess. The truth is this, anyone can shout for help that’s okay,
but after the people arrived at the scene what I expected from them was for
them to hold the guys and the debtor then ask what he has stolen or find out if
they had any intention to steal anything.
The people around got to the scene not with the intention to
settle but with the intention to kill. They attacked the boys beat them with
sticks and heavy woods; they even went to the level of burning them alive.
This is a typical example of jungle justice.
SOLUTION
Before one can talk about how to solve a problem you must
know what the cause was. So what are the problems?
The first problem there was
·
lack of understanding. The student and the
indigene lacked that.
·
Not making the right decision in the part of the
indigene and the debtor.
·
Hatred, love your neighbor as your selves I
didn’t see anyone loving any neighbor there that was pure hatred
·
The fear of God, it was plainly written there,
if a person has the fear of God you will not burn your fellow, no matter the
Tribe, Race, Skin Colour or even position.
Before a man can have the fear of God in him, he must first
understand and know God. A man without Christ is a dead man, a lost man, a
confused man and a man without understand.
Accept
Jesus Today as your Lord a personal Saviour, he died for us on the cross of
Calvary so we would live. A man without Jesus is just existing and not living.
Jesus said in the book of John 14:6 ‘‘ I am the way, the
truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’’
